Community verdict
Zojirushi hot water dispensers earn widespread praise as reliable, buy-it-for-life appliances that offer unmatched daily convenience for tea, coffee, and instant foods. Owners consistently celebrate their precise temperature settings, low energy consumption, and multi-year longevity. The primary concern across long-term owners involves the inner lid components and rubber gaskets, which can degrade or flake over years of constant exposure to steam.

No headaches; they just work perfectly day after day.
I think the made in Japan Zojirushi is worth the extra money. The customer support is good and you can buy spare parts through their website.
...one thing i dislike about is the rubber seal ring on the lid, it doesn't last, it sort of melted away before the unit gone bad.
Sadly the top plastic degrades and goes into the water. It's a pretty common problem with them now that they've been on the market for a bit.
