Community verdict
Recent Whirlpool top-load washers struggle to satisfy owners due to noticeable design flaws and poor cleaning efficiency. While long-term brand loyalists praise older units and appreciate features like removable agitators, modern buyers report frequent operational issues. The most common complaints cite weak agitation that leaves clothes dirty, excessive noise during spin cycles, and frequent breakdowns within the first two years of use.

I bought a Whirlpool top load washer about a year ago. I hate it! It is is the worst washer I have ever had. It does not clean!!
DO NOT BUY... My clothes come out of the washer inadequately cleaned, twisted around and the agitator, and the machine bangs through the spin cycle
Purchased a whirlpool washer and dryer set less than 2 yrs ago. I just had my 4th service repair. Biggest piece of crap I have ever owned.
I bought a large, Whirlpool top loader with a removable agitator... So far... I like it quite a lot. I don't expect it to last as long as my older one
