It's just a very nicely made sturdy container. Appears to be extruded from one solid piece of metal. Sort of impressive.
The vitamix stainless is 48oz. And performs well, eliminating most of the complaints with the newer, wider 64 oz containers.
Even with the turmeric not staining the container it still can stain the plastic lid if there is a lot of splashing during blending.
