Vault is a good basic TNF pack; very sturdy and built well. Mine has been great for 6 years or so.
I have the North Face Vault and it is brilliant. It is my everyday backpack and it is ok even for travels abroad.
The build quality is excellent and it's probably the most comfortable bag I've owned.
They're great bags and they're not really “investment” level cost-wise. You can get a great one for like $60 on sale
