If you have more narrow feet, the Salomons are the way to go. European style fit and very durable/comfortable.
I have a narrow foot and heel retention is always a major challenge... So far the heel retention is very good with the X Ultra 4.
I find their soles are too slippery for UK and Ireland trekking and running... Contagrip just doesn't work well on wet rock.
