I just got the MagSafe carbon fiber wallet and it sticks to my phone case just fine. I can pick it up by the wallet and it stays on the phone.
The plate is definitely the part that kills the whole point of MagSafe. However I only got it because I didn’t use MagSafe for charging anyways.
The Steel ring that they now ship with the wallet totally fixed this issue and actually improved my MagSafe experience altogether.
I don't like how it requires extra hardware just to make it work. No thanks, I'll just stick to having my phone and wallet separate.
