KitchenAid Artisan Design Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
Community verdict
Scoring a 7.8 out of 10, the KitchenAid Artisan Design Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer remains a beloved kitchen centerpiece praised for its attractive styling and user-friendly bowl clearance. Most buyers appreciate how easy it is to scrape bowls and add ingredients compared to bulkier commercial designs. However, reviewers frequently caution that the tilt mechanism can bounce and strain when tackling stiff bread doughs, while the Design Series bowls add noticeable weight and cost.

Wife has had both a bowl lift and tilt head and she uses the tilt head primarily because she says it’s easier to get into the bowl to scrape the sides
The Artisan Design series is more money even on sale. The glass bowl is extremely heavy and is breakable.
I have the artisan tilt and would not recommend. It is noisy, gets very hot, the top is not held firmly down so bounces up and down as it mixes
I’ve had both, though lift is more powerful, I think I prefer the tilt. It's easier to get ingredients into the bowl while you're working it
