GAF Timberline UHDZ StainGuard Plus Pro Ultramat Shingles
Community verdict
GAF Timberline UHDZ shingles are generally praised as a substantial step up from base architectural shingles, offering robust thickness, strong warranty coverage, and an unlimited windspeed rating when installed as part of a complete GAF system. Professional installers and homeowners frequently highlight their weather resistance and rich color depth. However, critics point out the premium price tag over standard options, and some buyers dislike the pronounced optical shadow line on certain roof pitches.

I was willing to spend the extra for the better shingle... I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and workmanship of the team.
UHDZ... carries an unlimited windspeed rating when installed with a GAF enhanced warranty.
While the shingle appears a tad thicker, I am very unhappy with the fake shadow effect.
The things I don’t like about gaf is that there shingles are paper thin and just feel cheap.
