CeraVe Healing Ointment
Community verdict
Across 13 authentic reviews, CeraVe Healing Ointment achieves an 8.6 out of 10 for its effectiveness as a barrier-repairing occlusive. Users widely praise its ceramide-rich formulation and lighter feel compared to alternatives like Vaseline or Aquaphor, making it a favorite for facial slugging and dry lips. However, a minority of reviewers report frustration with slow absorption, sticky overnight residue, and recent ingredient adjustments.

I also used Vaseline but the cerave ointment is 1000x better.
It's the least sticky occlusive balm with petrolatum and feels lighter than aquaphor, Vaseline, etc.
Highly recommend to try it for slugging. In fact, I am now using it to slug under eyes daily in the morning.
We find it does not penetrate and leaves a sticky residue even when used overnight.
