The flex space is nice for between flights storing everything in one bag, but I couldn't justify it for the extra price.
The carry on flex is what I ended up getting. I like the bit of flex for souvenirs. Its gone lots of places and held up well the last two years.
I've flown American a few times with the bigger carry on and it fits in the overhead bin with no problem.
The Carry On Flex which when expanded is almost the same internal space as The Bigger Carry On but would work for global travel when not expanded.
