Steelcase Series 1 Office Chair
Community verdict
The Steelcase Series 1 serves as an accessible entry point into high-end ergonomic seating, offering reliable back support, breathable mesh, and a generous warranty. Many buyers praise its easy assembly and strong posture alignment, especially for lighter or shorter users. However, several owners report issues with long-term cushion density, loose armrest caps, and a recline mechanism that lacks sufficient tilt range.

The color is beautiful and the chair is high quality and quite comfortable. I appreciate the fact that you can raise the seat fairly high...
Great lumbar support and overall back support. The mesh helps a lot in these hot days.
I own a steelcase series 1 and it's going back tomorrow. One of the most painful chairs ever...for working all day, it's not a good bet.
Love every aspect about my Series 1 except for the Arm Caps. Why is there no button or screw to tighten them in place and lock them?
