Sony WH-1000XM5
Community verdict
Drawing from 16 authentic reviews, the Sony WH-1000XM5 earns a 7.8 out of 10. Reviewers consistently praise its class-leading active noise cancellation, lightweight extended comfort, and cleaner, punchier bass compared to earlier models. However, multiple buyers note significant caveats around plastic durability issues, a bulky non-folding travel case, and intermittent connection stability.

Comfort = 10/10: Survived 6-hour study marathons. Sound Quality: Crisp AF. Cons: Case: Bulky af.
The bass isn't that muddy, overblown stuff you get on cheaper headphones — it's tight, punchy, and actually controlled.
The noise cancelling is superb - slightly but noticeably better than xm4. The touch panels are superb.
